Chapter 8~ Peter and Mr. Elliot

The Winter days flew on,And signs of spring began to show.
By now it had been nearly two months since Kenneth had taken Tina to live with the Holenwalds.
And everyday he was more glad he had taken her there. She no longer looked pale and ragged. Her cheeks were always bright and rosy, and her golden curls were fresh and soft.Everyday she was learning new things.Mrs.Holenwald had patiently taught her to read, write, and even was teaching her to sew.Tina delighted in sewing,And every time Kenneth came to see her,She always had a new picture,Stitched onto her sampler by her small hands,to show him.
Kenneth thought all of the things Tina was being taught were "just Grand"As he would have put it,But there was One thing that Tina was learning that puzzled him.It was something about a man,Whom Tina said Loves Everyone in the Whole world,And Knows about everything that everyone did do,And would do in the future.Another thing he recalled hearing her say recently was that this man had lived long ago,But Died, and is now living in Heaven watching everyone.
In Kenneth's mind-None of this made sense. It didn't seem possible that a person could love EVERYONE in the world. And if it was,It was probably awfully hard.Besides this,The concept of a man who knew everything everyone in the world did do,And everything they would do in the future,Was an absolute puzzle in Kenneth's mind.
Nobody could know everthing! And most certainly NOT the future! He remembered Mam and Pop telling him that.
Mam and Pop had never taught him of this man,Or did they?He always remembered the story of the first christmas, but certainly, this man Tina was speaking of,Wasn't little baby Jesus grown up.Or was it?Kenneth just couldn't seem to make sense of it.
On this particular day,He was thinking long and hard on this subject as he walked towards the Holenwalds to see Tina.Hands stashed into his pockets, and his cap pulled low down over his eyes.Getting more irratated in himself with each step. Why couldn't he figure it out?If Tina was able to,then a big lad of thirteen could.Couldn't he?Kenneth was starting to have his doubts.
He was almost angry when he reached his destination, and found the Holenwalds gone.
"Course!"he exclaimed now remembering."It's sunday! They're over at church!"
By now he was extremely irratated.Couldn't he remember anything? It didn't help matters any that his day had been started off wrong in the first place. When he had been rudely awakened from a sound sleep By the Preist of St.Mary's catholic church.
"Just 'cause I was sleepin' on his dirty ol' steps."He muttered to himself remembering the happening."I'd jus' like to see what he'd do if I woke him up from a nice sleep,an' yelled at him on top of it!Same as he did ter' me!"He kicked a pebble on the road and let out a deep breath.
"Why so down hearted,Kenneth?"Peter gasped as he fell in step with him."An' why are ye' walkin' so swift?'Most had ter' run to catch up with you!"
"Sorry,Peter."He slackened his pace."Didn't know you was chasin' me."
"Never mind it."Peter waved his hand."Well,now.What's botherin' ye,Kenneth?"
"Nothin' much"He shrugged.Peter wasn't easily decieved."Nothin' much you say?By the look on yer' face an' by how fast you were walkin'.I 'spect somethin' 'sides "Nothin' Much is botherin' you.Come now,Kenneth.A pence fer your thoughts."
"Oh,Alright."He gave in "Since yer' so pressin'.It's like this:I was havin' a good sleep on them steps o' that st.Mary's catholic church on 5th st.When all of o' sudden,I woke up to that nasty ol' preist pushin' me down an' tellin' me ta' git' cause the people would be comin' fer church.Said he didn't want them thinkin' he let some "dirty ol' street rat"as he called me,Sleep on them steps."
"Well,A cathilic churches' steps 'tisn't no good place ter fall asleep on a saturday night.'Specially not that churches' steps.I've come to know Preist Murphey, and I'd always knowed' him as a ,well. He jus' isn't --"
"Considerate?"Kenneth growled
"Sure thing,Kenneth. That's the word ta' use!He jus' doesn't think about people, other than the ones that are members of his church."
"Well, sides all that,"He continued"I walked all the way over ta see Tina,And here they were at church!"
"Reckon 'most everyone is."Peter shrugged."I'd be at the mission sunday school right now if it wasn't fer' the vacation."Kenneth looked over at him,Peter saw the confused look on his face and hurried to explain."The teacher is gone on vacation someplace in London. He's goin' ter' be gone three weeks teachin' somethin' called vacation Bible school. It's like the mission sunday school,on it tisn't jus' fer sunday,it's fer' all week fer' three weeks.I wanted ta' go when teacher announced it,but I knowed' it cost money,an' uncle never has any extra,so I didn't ask bout' it."
Kenneth remained silent.
"Hey,Kenneth. Why don't you ever go ter' the mission sunday school?"Peter inquired"Sure you'd like it.Most all the lads that go do.'Cept fer Harley. He jus' hates it.'Spect it's cause he's a Rascal though."
Kenneth grinned in spite of himself.
"an' what do you mean by sayin' that?"
"Well,it's like this.When you're a rascal,you don't like bein' told what's right."
"An' do you like bein' told what's right?"Kenneth asked.
"Well,"Peter paused for a moment,then smiled and answered."Yes,reckon I do,Although sometimes it's hard to accept it."

Chapter 7 "I love you,Kenneth!"

Chapter 7~"I Love You,Kenneth!
"Hey,Kenneth."Peter shook him awake."I'm A headin' out towards the bakery fer'
breakfast.I'll be seein' ya later."He then placed his cap on his head and left the apartment.
"I may as well get up too."He thought to himself."Say,I'll go back an visit Tina."
With this thought in mind,He grabbed his cap and walked out the door.
The whole town was white as snowflakes poured down from the sky.
As he approached the church,He heard voices. And as he neared closer he could hear that
they were voices singing. It sounded familiar,in a way.Now he could hear the words of the song they were singing:
"Silent night,Holy night,All is calm,All is bright."
That song,It sounded so familiar. But why?Suddenly memories flooded his mind.Memories of Mam
Holding Tina,And him sitting on Pop's knee,All gathered in the parlor with Grandma, and poppa,
all singing that song together. All at once he began to wish to have those Times back,
When he used to sit on Pop's knee, and Watch Mam snuggle Tina. But that was impossible.
Mam and Pop were no longer here,Nor were Grandma and Poppa. They had all died of
A rare illness called Cholera. And He had been left alone in the world with no one to care for Him
And Tina.
All of a sudden he was broght back to the present as a little gir's voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Merry Christmas."She smiled placing a small green pouch in his hand.He watched the girl
skip away, then opened the puch to discover it was filled with small mint candies.
"Why I'll give these ta' Tina!"He exclaimed to himself. Then thrusting his hands in his pockets,
continued down the street.
When he arrived at the cottage he was greeted by a group of children, clad in mittens, hats, scarves and jackets. All with their faces bright pink from the cold.one of which was Tina, who when she saw him coming,
ran towards him in delight and informed him of the snowman they were making."He's almost done!"She exclaimed."And Mrs.Holenwald gave us a carrot for his nose!Emily brought
out a special bag too!It had buttons a hat and a scarf in it.Will you help,Kenneth?
She looked up into his face eagerly. As much as he wanted to say yes,Something seemed to be holding him
back.
"Maybe after awhile."He finally told her."But let's go inside fer' a bit."
"Okay!"She willingly agreed and slipped her mittened hand into his bare one.
As soon as they were inside the house,Mrs. Holenwald greeted them with her cheery smile,And helped
Tina out of her wet clothes.
"I'll lay these by the fire to dry, until you're ready to go back out again,Dearie."She smiled down at her.
"Kenneth,I made you something for a christmas present."Tina suddenly announced."I want to give it to him now."She turned to Mrs. Holenwald.
"Of course dear."She chuckled. She left the room only for a minute, and returned again carrying a bundle, which she handed to Tina,Who had promptly jumped off the davenport and held out her hands for it.
"I made them just for you,Cause' I love you."She smiled as she placed the bundle in his lap,
then sat back down and snuggled up next to him.
Once he had unwrapped it he found a pile of cookies.
"There's two kinds,"she told him."Chocolate,and Peanut."
(By this time Mrs.Holenwald had left the room to tend to one of her children.)
Tina looked up adn saw him brush away a tear with his dirty hand.
"Why,Kenneth! What's the matter?"She cried."Don't you like them?Don't you like those flavors?"
"Why,yes,Tina.Course I like em'."He sniffed."They're jus' grand."
"Then what's the matter?"She asked again."Did you want more?we can make more if-"
"No,Tina."He cut her off."I don't need more, this is jus' fine."
Suddenly remembering the candy in his pocket,he set the cookies down and reached into his pocket for it.
"Here."He smiled at her."This is fer' you."
She pulled the string and opened the bag.her eyes lit up with excitement when she saw what was inside.
"candy!!"She gasped."Oh,Kenneth!I love you!Thankyou!Thankyou!"She jumped off the davenport and threw her arms around him."You're the best brother!"
He squeezed the little body wrapped around him.Warm circles raced around his heart.
Tina loved him.He had almost forgotten what it felt like to be loved.
"Oh,Kenneth!"She exclaimed suddenly."May we go out and make the snowman now?"
Mrs.Holenwald entered the room."Of course you will,Lad.And here are some warm things to put on."
This time he could'nt resist."Alright."He grinned, and started putting the things on.
How good it felt to be outside playing with the other children in the snow.It was wonderful to feel carefree and young again. He had almost been forced to grow up too fast.
That was an unforgettable evening for Kennenth. And he never forgot it.

Chapter 6 ~Where are the children?
The fire crackled in the hearth as A young man paced the floor. "I'm plum puzzled sir."He sighed to his companion."I've searched everywhere and I still haven't found them." "Are you sure it said England?Tell me their names again,Paul." "I'm positive it said England, sir."He sat down."Their names are Kenneth John and Lynette Tinisha.Although I believe they called Lynette, "Tina",For she was her Mother's namesake." "Hmm."The man rubbed his chin."Where in England,Paul?" "The Telegram didn't say,Sir.It just stated that their parents had Died somewhere in England.I presume since they were left orphans,They would have probably been put in an orphan asylum of some sort. All of the places I've looked have had no traces of the children. I'm clean worn out,Sir.I haven't the slightest Idea where else to look" "you say you've been searching for three Years?" "yes, sir. It's up to me to raise them,As I'm their only relation left." The man raised his eyebrows."The only one?" "Yes,I'm their third cousin. The family Died of the rare illness called cholera. My parents too." The man slowly got up from his chair."well this is a sad case,But I'll try my best to help you find them.Perhaps it would be wise to begin searching schools and such." "yes,Maybe so.I may as well get some rest and begin straightway in the morning.Thankyou for your consideration,Edmond." "Good evening."He tipped his hat as he opened the door, and stepped out into the whirl of snowflakes." "Those children are somewhere."He thought to himself as he got into the street car."And somehow I'm going to find them." Meanwhile,As this was happening,Kenneth was just leaving the Holenwald's place. He was on his way to meet Peter,Who had invited him to stay with him and his uncle in the shabby apartment. Feeling a little more comfortable than usual,He contentedly settled down to sleep that night,Oblivious of all the distress His Cousin was going through,In search on him and Tina.
Chapter 5 ~Four streets away~
"So,Kenneth,"Mrs.Holenwald began as Kenneth returned to the parlor."I suppose you and Tina will probably be needing some dinner,And will want to go to bed soon."She smiled at him. "Oh no,Maam!"He exclaimed suddenly."I'm not goin' ter stay here.Jus' Tina.I only wanted a place fer Tina since she was sick.I'll be leavin' jus' as soon as Tina comes back."He hurriedly explained."Good ol' Peter here misunderstood me.I'll pay you fer' her room an' Meals,Maam,But I aint' gonna stay here.I don't want ter' intrude on you." "Why,Kenneth! You don't mean to say you're going back out in the cold all by yourself and go back on the streets!"She exclaimed."You'll soon be sick too! It's a wonder you haven't gotten ill yet!" "I'll be fine,Miss.I ken take care of myself,But Tina Can't." "well my Boy,We'd love to have you stay with us,Honestly,And you need not pay us a bit. But,If you feel you can't stay with us,we won't force you." Presently Emily appeared in the room with Tina,All fresh,Clean,And smelling sweet of Lavendar.Kenneth thought he had never seen her cleaner. Emily had dressed her in a light pink dress. Her long golden curls were no longer matted but combed nicely, and were fastened back with a small ribbon. And her small feet were cozy in a pain of stockings. She let go of Emily's hand and ran over to Kenneth. "Emily said I may keep these clothes."She smiled up at him.He smiled back and lifted her up into his arms. "I'm goin' back to the old place,But I'll come back and see you tomorrow."He promised her. Tina looked into his face soberly and nodded her head,Then kissed him before he set her back down. Turning back to Mrs. Holenwald he thanked her, then turned around and headed for the door with Peter right Behind him. Mrs.Holenwald stood in the door way and watched them walk down the street."Well,That's one unselfish boy."She thought to herself shaking her head. She was right,in a way. When it came to Tina,Kenneth was unselfish(though he didn't know it.)And in a few other areas too.But you must not think that Kenneth was a good, selfless,Kind,Trustworthy boy all of the time.True,He could Be trusted with work all of the time,But it must be confessed that a great many things had been stolen with his hands.Of course he knew this was wrong,But what could he do?When he and Tina had needed food,And there wasn't any around, the only option left was to steal.(or so he thought.)Of course Tina ate whatever he brought, stolen or found,After all she was only five years old,and didn't understand. Sleeping back in the alley wasn't as easy as he had expected.Peter had kindly offered to stay with him,But Kenneth had waved him off telling him to go on home to his uncle. So Peter had left, and went back to his uncle's shabby apartment. After rolling around restlessly,Sleep still wouldn't come,So he lay awake and let his thoughts wander. "Peter sure is lucky to have an Uncle,An' a place to stay.Even if it is shabby."He thought to himself."If Mam an' Pop hadn't come from overseas we might have some relations too.Might as well accept the fact that we don't."He sighed."Not that I know of anyhow." Little did Kenneth know, that just up the road, four streets away,in a small cottage sat a relation.their only one left.A twenty five year old third cousin, desprately in search of him and Tina.
Chapter # 4~*~*~"I Don't Know I Reckon."
"Peter good fellow!"Kenneth exclaimed."I's don't even know how ter get there!"
"Aw,Don't ye worry 'bout that,Kenneth.Let's jus' go an' get Tina,An' I'll show ye the way."
"Alright,Peter,Let's go then, but you must tell me 'bout where we're goin' 'afore we reach Tina."
"Surely!'Tis a nice cozy lil' cottage jus' outside o' town. It's got a Good Kind Missus in it an' a good Sir too.Oh an' they got a bunch o' cute lil' Chil'ren"He laughed."There be 'bout twelve of em' I spect!Tina'll have a grand time Rompin' round' with them!"
"What made you go there peter?"Kenneth wondered.
"Oh,I's known the Missus quite awhile. Most everybody does I 'spect. She's good an' kind,Goes ta' church a lot,and loves young'uns,So I's knew she'd want you an' Tina,An' she said she did of course!Said she wanted Ye both!"
"Peter,It sounds jus' grand,But I already told ye,Tis not fer me,Jus fer Tina.I'm not goin' ter stay there,Jus' Tina." "Why,Kenneth!"He stopped walking abruptly,And stared at Kenneth."Ye must go there too!Ye can't live out here no longer!Ye must have someplace warm too,Else you's get sick like Tina,Er' even worse!" Kenneth held out his hand."I'll be alright livin' out here.I's don't get sick real easy.'Sides I ain't worried 'bout myself it's only Tina,She can't take the cold and sickness, like I can." Peter shook his head."Ye truley' are brave,Kenneth. But I still think Yer' crazy! You should go with Tina!"
"Sorry,Peter,But I ain't gonna go."
Tina wasn't quite herself when they arrived back at the shack.
"Tina."Kenneth whispered,Shaking her, until she drowsily opened her eyes."Come on,Peter found a nice place fer you ter stay."
"I'm awful cold."She shivered as peter lay his hand on her forehead."What's that fer?"Kenneth asked."I'm checkin' her temperature."He answered."An' she's burnin' up so we'd better hurry." "How would you's know that? You ain't no doctor."Scowled
"To be sure,I ain't no doctor,But my Pop was one an' I learn how ta' read Temperatures from him.So' I know how ta' tell."
Kenneth nodded and wrapped his jacket around Tina,Then scooped her up into his arms."You lead the way,Peter,And hurry,Like ye said."
Peter skillfully led the way down the icy streets, and through the dark erie alleys until at last they arrived at the small brick cottage just on the outskirts of the city.Peter nimbly ran up the steps and rapped on the door.
A small girl wearing a white bonnet, and clean white pinafore opened the door.by the look on her face, one could tell that she was startled at what she saw.She obviously was afraid of peter, whom she had heard her Mam speak of once or twice, but had never seen. What was a small girl like her going to say to a ragged street boy?Well she need not have worried for peter before her.
"Excuse me,miss,But I'd like to see yer' Mam."
Relief showed on her face as she bobbed a curtsie, and exclaimed:"Oh yes,Of course."And left the doorway.Soon afterwards her mother appeared."Hello,Peter, come in!And you too lad."She motioned at Kenneth."This must be your little sister."She relieved Kenneth of his load and gently pushed him through the door.Kenneth noticed The house was cozy and warm,as he followed, the woman(Called Mrs.Holenwald) down the hall.
"Jacob."She said to a chubby little boy building castles on the floor with some wooden blocks."Please run and ask Papa to light a fire for me in the parlor. When you return,Pick up these blocks and play with them elsewhere.you know the rules,The hall is'nt the place to be building Castles."
"yes,Mam."He nodded and left his perch on the floor.
Once inside the parlor,Mrs.Holenwald unwrapped Tina of Kenneth's jacket."My!"She exclaimed."This poor child is running a fever!Jacob run and get Emily."
Jacob left the room and soon arrived back with his oldest sister."Yes,Mam?"she inquired.
"Please heat some water for a bath."
"Yes,Mam."And in a whirl of skirts,She left the room.
"Sit down,Peter."She motioned."You too,Lad,I guess I didn't aske your name.Pardon me!What is your name,May I ask?"
"Kenneth."He answered,And seated himself next to Peter."An' my sister's name is Tina."
"Well,I'm mighty glad you came.I'm glad to help you and Tina."Kenneth was about to say something,When Emily suddenly entered the room."The water is ready,Mam."She announced."Would you like me to Bathe the little girl?" "Yes,Please."She nodded.
Emily went to retrieve Tina accordingly,But as soon as she had her arms round the child,Tina began to Wail.
"I think you might have to carry her to the washroom,Kenneth" Mrs.Holenwald laughed.Kenneth grinned, picked Tina up and followed Emily down the hall.
"In here,Lad."She motioned towards the doorway. After having dropped Tina off in the washroom,He started back down the hall.As he walked he could hear Emily asking Tina some questions.
"So,Tina,How old are you?"
Kenneth stopped walking to hear Tina's answer,For he knew how little she knew about her age.
"I don't know I Reckon"She replied."But my Big brother Kenneth could tell you,Is he still around?"
"I'm not sure."Emily answered."But I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try calling for him just in case he is about."
"Kenneth!"Tina called suddenly.(Tina always took advice as soon as she recieved it,it seemed.)"How old am I?Are you around?"
Kenneth grinned"Yer' Five,Tina. An' of course I'm still around!"He suffed his hands deep into his pockets, and continued walking.
Chapter 3 ~ A nice warm place for Tina
The Bells on the sewing shop door rang and clanked as Kenneth pushed open the door. "Can I help you?"The gray hair woman behind the desk asked shortly,Looking up. "Please Ma'am,Have you any deliveries to make today."He asked twisting his cap in his hands."I'll work fer' some small pay,Jus' as long as you want me to." She stood up and surveyed him through her spectacles, which were perched on the tip of her nose."How old are you,And what's your name?" He squeezed his cap again."Name's Kenneth Brykman an' I'm Thirteen years old,Ma'am." After surveying him again, and sitting back down,She answered:"Well,I suppose I could use you for a bit.My usual delivery boy has been down with some flu and hasn't been able to work for two weeks now.As you probably know, the deliveries are piling up.I thought they could wait until he came back,But it appears he won't be coming back for quite awhile it seems."She sighed and started rummaging through a pile of papers sitting on the desk. "Here's the addresses."She stated,Handing him a slip of paper."I suppose you know your way around the town?"She raised her Eyebrows. "Oh,Yes,of course,Ma'am."He answered. "Well,Each box has a number written on the side,So you can go by that.the parcels that need to be delivered are in the storeroom. To get there go through the hall over yonder and it's the door to your right." "thankyou,Ma'am.I'm very much obliged to you."Kenneth returned gratefully. The woman just answered with a short grunt. Within two hours,Kenneth had delivered the packages and returned to the sewing shop. "Is that all of them?'She asked as he approached her desk. "That's all the parcels there was,Ma'am."He returned,Removing his cap. "well, here's your pay then."She dug around in her small coin purse and produced four small coins."If ye come back again next week,I'll have some more work for ye."she handed him the coins. "thankyou,Ma'am."He nodded."An' I'll be by next week if I can make it." He counted the money in his hand as he strode down the street. "Ten pence!"He exclaimed."This is 'Nuf fer med'cen an a blanket fer Tina!Is this ever Jolly!" "What'ere ye so jolly fer,Kenneth?"Peter asked as he approached the church."I went an' worked fer' a Missus an' she gave me ten Pence!" "What doin'?"Peter exclaimed."That sure is jolly,But I's got somethin' better even than that ter' tell ye." "what?"Kenneth raised his eyebrows. "Well,Yer' not gonna believe me,but,I've found a place fer Ye to take Tina." "this time yer' trickin' me,Peter."Kenneth exclaimed. "No,I'm not Kenneth!True as the word!I ain't trickin' ye!Truely,I found ye a place an' yer to Take Tina there right off this minute!"
Chapter 2 ~~Orphan Homes,Coughs,And Peter.
Kenneth shivered as he pulled himself out from under the soggy piece of cardboard. He had used it that night for what little warmth it could give.He lifted the side of his jacket, which he had laid on Tina, and saw that she was sleeping. "Guess I'd best leave now."He thought to himself,Standing up.He bent down to stroke Tina's hair,Then Straightening His tall form,Shoved his hands deep into his pockets, and walked down the alley. The morning was icy,and frost hung in the air as he made his way down the street. "Hey!You!"Someone behind him shouted.Kenneth stopped short, and turned around to see an old Gentleman With a cane and spectacles perched upon his nose coming towards him. "Hello,Sir."Kenneth began slowly."Did ye want teh' ask me somethin'?" "Ask ye something!Yes I did!'the man Laughed coldly."See here,Lad.Where's Ye parents?"Kenneth shoved his hands deeper into his pockets. "Have'nt got any,Sir."He replied slowly. "Have'nt got any ye say?"The man scowled."Ye have to have some parents,Lad." "Well,I's got some,But they ain't alive nomore." "ah,So you're an orphan then,Eh.Lad?" "Guess you's could say so." "Well,Where do ye live?Do ye have a house of some sort." "Have'nt got a house either."Kenneth looked up at the man,What right had he to ask him these questions anyway? "Look here,Lad.If ye have'nt any living parents,or Guardians, around, and no home,Why is'nt ye in an orphan home?" "I has'nt any desire to live in one."He returned. "Well,I'll warn ye,Lad.If ye keep Walking the streets like this every day,The sheriffs will come and take ye to one. That's where Lads like Ye belong." "I's ain't no child,Sir.I be thirteen years old,an' I can fend Fer' Myself." The man waved him off and left without another word,And Kenneth,Turning back, continued his walk as usual. "Hey!Kenneth!"Peter ran up to his side."I was waitin' fer' ye over by the dumpster fer' a while. When ye did'nt come,I decided Ter' take a walk." "sorry,Peter."He apologized."I meant Ta' come sooner,But Tina took Awhile to get back Ta' sleep." "It's alright.Ye know,I'm so used to bein' a lone Lad that I ferget' you's got Tina."Kenneth shrugged and kept walking."Got some jolly news,Kenneth."Peter started up again."That big ol' church on the third street is givin' out some food.Should see if we's could git' some." "That's dandy,Peter,But fer' now I's got to get me some work,So's I can buy some med'cin' Fer' Tina." "Med'cin,Ye say?"Peter Exclaimed."What fer'?" "Tina's jus' gettin' a little cough,an I don't want her te' get worse." "I'd be mighty worried if I's was you!Ain't ye?" "Course I'm worried. That's why I'm goin' ter buy her some med'cine." "Sorry to say it,sir. But I's don't think that's gonna' help.Stayin' out in this cold is what's makin' her sick I reckon. We need ter' find a nice warm place fer' her to stay." "But there isn't no place fer me to take her."Kenneth argued. "I know of a place."Peter returned calmly."Ye jus' leave it to me,I'll go an take care of the matter for ye Kenneth.Ye jus go an' find some work like ye said.Jus' meet me back here in bout' two er' three hours."Peter decided. "Alright,Peter."Kenneth shrugged."Thanks." Peter waved his hand and disappeared around the corner, leaving Kenneth to himself. "wonder what he's goin' ter do."He thought aloud to himself, then shrugging again, trudged down the street towards the sewing shop.
